PHILIPPINES-AUSTRALIA COMMUNITY OF TASMANIA INC.
The Philippines-Australia Community of Tasmania Inc (PACT Inc.) started as a very small group of Filipino-Australians under the leadership of the first president, Mr Allanby Salter in 1976. It was then called the Philippine Cultural Society.Â
Through the years, this small group had grown in numbers and had various names: Philippines-Australia Association of Tasmania (PAATI Inc.), Australian-Filipino Association (AFAST Inc.) and finally, PACT Inc. in 1996.
PACT Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to promote the preservation and development of Filipino values, languages/dialects, traditions, and culture of the Filipino-Australian community.
We encourage our young generations to be involved in different activities and events as they will be our future leaders.
We are a growing community composed of individuals and families of Filipino and Australian descent that seek to nurture a life of faith, hope, and love, while positively contributing to the advancement of the Tasmanian community, and the Australian society as a whole.
We envision a dynamic community where everyone belongs and feels at home in Tasmania.
To encourage and inspire every Filipino-Australian in Tasmania.
